Call Day Nets 12 Teams

callathonA colossal thank you to our volunteers who took time out of their busy schedules last Thursday to join our Mohawk Valley Memory Walk call-a-thon. For three hours last Thursday, chapter staff and volunteers called friends, colleagues and people who have contacted the chapter for assistance and asked them to join Memory Walk. The end result was 12 new teams for the walk, which takes place on September 12 at the Masonic Care Community.

Thank yous go to Greg Jones, Carrie Moulton, Paulette Nickerson and Dan Percy, who burned the phone lines that morning. Thank yous also go to gold sponsor Northland Communications in Utica for hosting us.

Wasting away again in Margaritaville…

Saturday’s Island Beach Party at Johnson City’s Blind Tiger Pub was a smash. Thanks to the Pirates of the Susquehanna, the Southern Tier chapter of Parrotheads in Paradise, for putting the party on. The Parrotheads are the official national fan club of Jimmy Buffet and a national team sponsor for Memory Walk (Buffet’s father died in 2003 from Alzheimer’s).

The party featured a Jimmy Buffet tribute band, raffles and prizes and a Memory Walk enrollment area. Check out our pictures from the party by clicking the link below.
